14 years...and then a HUGE WIN!!! We highly, highly recommend Jesse for anyone seeking a professional, passionate, wise and hardworking, attorney. She was truly, an answered prayer. So here is a little recap of my case and our history with Green Evans-Schroeder. My deportation case started in 2008. I was pretty young, and accepted a voluntary departure to leave the country and go back to Mexico, where I didn’t have any family. I hired Green Evans-Schroeder to see if there was anything I could do. Jesse Evans-Schroeder submitted a motion to reopen my case, arguing to the judge that I was eligible for asylum. The judge reopened my case. After it was reopened, the government agreed to “close” it and allow me to remain in the U.S. But then, almost ten years later, the government reopened my case. I had no idea. Luckily, Jesse tracked me down and let me know what was happening. I went back to court, and this time I was eligible to get my permanent residency through Cancellation of Removal. I had to show the Judge that my U.S. citizen mom, wife and kids would suffer an extreme hardship if I was removed. Jesse and her team spent a lot time gathering evidence and preparing me to testify in Court. On the day of the trial, we were happy and relieved that the judge granted my application, which means I will be a permanent resident, and I can stay here with my family. Even the government seemed to agree that I deserved to stay, and I believe that is because the case was so well prepared and the many prayers over our case, they knew the right thing was to allow me to remain here in the U.S. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and so thankful to Jesse and the team for this huge win.
