Kendra H.M. Scheuerlein is a senior attorney at Green Evans-Schroeder, an immigration and criminal defense law firm. She concentrates her practice in the areas of immigration and nationality matters, with a particular focus on representing clients in removal (or deportation) proceedings before the Department of Homeland Security, including clients with various criminal issues. In addition to removal defense, Ms. Scheuerlein represents clients in affirmative applications both before US Citizenship and Immigration Services and the US Consulates (US Department of State) in family-based immigration issues, with waivers of inadmissibility and deportability, in seeking asylum (safety) in the U.S., to obtain temporary visas to the U.S., and in the naturalization process to become a U.S. citizen.
Prior to joining Green Evans-Schroeder, Ms. Scheuerlein worked in immigration law for 19+ years in Chicago, IL; first as a paralegal (7 years) and then as a lawyer, after graduating from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, IL in 2013. Ms. Scheuerlein is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and continues to serve on the AILA Executive Board for Chicago, currently as Vice Chair, where she also serves as liaison to the Executive Board for the Chicago ICE-Enforcement and Removal Office Committee, Chicago ICE-Office of Principal Legal Advisor Committee, and the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Committee. Ms. Scheuerlein came to the practice of law after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies and working as a volunteer in health, hygiene, and water system in Guatemala. In her free time, Ms. Scheuerlein is an avid yoga practitioner and instructor and rescue dog lover.
