Kate is a Law Clerk at Green Evans-Schroeder.
For over two decades, Kate’s passion for linguistic human rights and the rights of migrants has propelled a continuous search for new and better ways to use her privilege, talents, and education in the service of others.
Kate received her Juris Doctor and Certificate in Immigration Law and Policy from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona, and her Diplomado in Mexican Public Law and Policy from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in Mexico City. She holds a Master of Arts in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a Minor in Portuguese from the University of New Mexico.
During her time in law school, Kate served as Co-President of the Immigration Law Students’ Association and worked as a teaching assistant and course facilitator in the Bacon Immigration Law & Policy Program, the Foreign Diplomat Training Program, and the Mexican Public Law and Policy Certificate Program.
Kate’s previous career was in health policy and bilingual health access. She has developed and coordinated bilingual case management and advocacy programs at the local non-profit and regional levels. Kate’s academic research has focused on using creative litigation to address climate migration within foreign, international, and domestic legal frameworks, and on the impact of language use and perception on judicial discretion in U.S. immigration court.
