Rocío Castañeda Acosta

Rocío Castañeda Acosta (she/her/ella) is an attorney at Green-Evans Schroeder, PLLC, where she specializes in immigration benefits before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. She has been practicing immigration law since May 2014 in a wide range of areas, including family-based immigration, removal defense, guardianships and dependency petitions before Arizona juvenile courts, asylum, U and T visa petitions for victims of crime and human trafficking, self-petitions for survivors of domestic violence, and SIJS petitions for immigrant youth who have been abandoned/abused/neglected by one or both parents. She is a former attorney with the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project, where she focused on representing unaccompanied immigrant children and litigation before federal district court in the areas of habeas, Freedom of Information Act, mandamus, and federal tort actions.

Rocío holds a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Arizona. She is authorized to appear before the Ninth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals and the Federal District Court for the District of Arizona.

She is an active contributor to the immigration law and Tucson community. She has spoken at events organized by the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Arizona. She is an adjunct instructor for Pima Community College’s Paralegal Program, where she teaches ethics.

She is fluent in English and Spanish. Rocío is from Nogales, and she enjoys carne asada, hiking, and reading fantasy.
